a life should leave scars
it should dig deep trenches into the flesh of humanity
it should rip and tear at the influence of the body politic
it should consume
the treason of cowardice offered as sacrifice to the natural world
it should bleed the hot blood of passions, convictions, and personal ideologies
it should sever the arteries of reason
dripping the crimson truth of confiscated confusion
it should carve out a chunk of the pulsing universe
and loudly scream
THIS IS ME
I EXIST
I AM A PART OF YOU
then
in the mist of the chaos
it should quietly recede into the darkness of the embracing stars
to be reborn
forever
